My fellow Adolecents, and any other individuals that read this,

Two days ago, on November 24, a day that will live on forever in infamy, 29 good genuine workers, each one a hero to the people, perished in hellish circumstances when the mine they were trapped in was wracked with an explosion. To my knowledge no bodys have thus far been recovered, but the general consecious is that their death is certain. We can at least take solace that they no longer have to face the suffering of this world, and depending on your religion they have moved on to a paradise, been re-incarnated as something completely awesome, or will return to aid the gods in their twilight struggle at the end of time.

Moving to something lighter in note, the next event is on the 9th of December, which can only mean one thing- Christmas!! Yes, joy to the world, 'tis the season, and there shall be many a merry carrol in the air, eggnog in many a mouth, a grand tree, adorned in all it's glory in many a hearth and home, many a present under said trees, many a delicious meal cooking in kitchens, and if you're very, very, very lucky, the girl or guy in your heart will just happen to be right next to you under a mistletoe. Unless you're not christian of course, but don't panic, most religions have some sort of christmas equivilant, so you too can be happy in December.

oh and there's an event on the 9th of december from 4:30 till 6:00. Bring food and a gift for secret santa!

There is also a chance to prove your goodwill to others, as help is needed for another christmas event on the 17th of December Apply to Suzie.

While you're at it It, I am also looking for recruits for my anti-grinch taskforce, to safeguard the town from jealous mean creatures who wish to see christmas gone. If you know of any grinches in the area, plase let me know right away!

And now for the new Kakapo challenge. To get a cookie, you must aquire a christmas tree (a real one too, none of this silly plastic nonsense), and decorate it with the finest decorations you can find! Then send a picture, if you can.

That is all for now my friends, peace and goodwill to all! And may those poor poor mineworkers find peace with the cosmos.

Boo!

Blah! I have returned. Weather to your joy or chagrin I leave to you to decide.

Summer is here. I can feel it. Many of you may celebrate at this, but I am more of a winter person (this is probably because my birthday is in winter here, so I always associate winter with friends, presents and cake). Still, Summer is here.

You may also be aware that it was Labour weekend recently. I know I was, for I know every labour weekend the world ends for three days. No, I am not talking about ragnarok, the apocalypse or even the rapture, I am of course refering to....

ARMAGEDDON!!!!!

It isn't actually doomsday, but instead a colossal celebration of all things awesome, and an opportunity for people to dress up as characters from Japanese cartoons. Not being a conisseur of said cartoons, I did not don the guise of a character from one of them, instead choosing to come as my completely awesome self. On Monday too. And 'twas good. Very good. Not quite as mind-blowingly awesome as the 2006 one (Summer Glau FTW!), but still good nonetheless.

In other news, the next event is exacitally tomorrow, on the 29th of October. And it's late at night. And adults only, if you know what I mean. Naw, i'm just kidding with the last one, it is a TEEN bookclub after all.

Also, for those on the path of accademic enlightenment, the Library now has a study centre that, on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 1700-1800, caters to all your studying needs.
And now for the KC. It has since ended, but I believe one person did complete it before. Here then, at last, is your cookie. Appologies that it took so long.

The next Kakapo challenge is to view my blog, millitantguerillacommunisthippie . Leave a comment there once you've finished. A bonus cookie if you subscribe to it. And don't forget to comment on this one too!
'till next time peoples!

Ih'm Bahk

Ahh, typing on a public acess computer next to strangers who are on Facebook. It reminds me of indo-china. Except sadly without the lovely dutch girls..............

That's right people, I'm back from my tour of 'Nam (and Cambodia), and it's great to be back. Although the things I saw there will haunt me for life.............

Anyhow, I also have two new big announcements.

First of all, I now have my own blog: MilitantGuerillaCommunistHippie! Peace out comrades (militantguerillacommunisthippie.blogspot.com)

The second announcement is that I have recently come second in my school's speech competition. Yay me! But also congradulations to the awesome Irish girl from my english class that came first place. You are indeed a worthy adversary in the arena of speechdom.

Moving to the domestic side, the next meeting is on October 14th. Also happening is the special get together for Hallow's Eve (yes I know what it's called now but that's it's original name darnit!). Go on, it will be fun. You know you want to.

And now the KC. I have reason to believe that some of this beloved blog's followers have been unable to acess the miracle of modern hedonistic decadence that is Facebook, so I have Expanded this one's deadline and perameters (what you have to do to get it)

The challenge now is to get Facebook in the first place. There is then a bonus second cookie to anyone who adds me.

And congradulations to Our first winner for this KC. Unfortunately, difficultys with obtaining the cookie means you cannot recieve it this time, and you will have to wait until next time. I am sorry for your inconvenience, but don't panic! Your cookie is on it's way!

That's all for now. Peace out Comrades!

Today's post is brought to you by: The state of California- you can travel the world, but nothing comes close to the golden coast!

Man, I have got to stop paying so much attention to my radio, now I have TWO songs stuck in my head!

Anyhows, the next book club meeting will be on Thursday the 8th of July, at 4:30pm, or 1600 hours. I, tragically, may not be attending, as I have been drafted and shipped off to 'Nam. Be sure to vote on the polls as well.

Manix 4 is in it's second week in cinemas, and if you haven't already, you should see it.

Again, no one completed the kakapo challenge, but I did recieve one late entry for the one before. Here is you over-due Cookie!

Now for your next challenge: now, I know I have thrown a couple of curveballs recently, but this next one is a piece of cake (or cookie, as may be the case). Your next challenge is to find me on facebook (look for my name, initials M.K.), and add me as a friend! See? I told you it was an easy one! (oh and don't worry, you don't have to, I know there are some certain somebodys out there that aren't particularly fond of me)
What I have been reading you ask (well, probably not, but just go along with it)? Well, the second installment of me working my way through the mountain of books I got for my birthday sees me reading a nice big book on that grandest of human conflict, WWII.
And now a word from our sponsors....

Can we pretend that....

....airplanes in the night sky are like shooting stars? I could really use a wish right now.

Sorry about that, but I have had that song firmly lodged into my chaotic adolescent mind all week. And all the weeks before that. Ever since I heard it on the radio last month in fact.

Anyhoo, the 21st of June will see the release of Manix 4, return of the antagonist from Manix 2. Starring Michelle Rodriguez and Anna Paquin.

Yesterday's gathering, while low in the head count, was high in deliciousness. Also low in Calories, sugar, salt, and 99% of whatever snazzy health food adverts say is bad for you. Some pictures (Finally):

In other news, for my 16th birthday (which I noticed none of you commented on, now I know how things really are), I recieved a large number of books. The first one I have read is Barefoot Gen, a semi-autobiographical Japanese cartoon about a child growing up in Hiroshima right before the Yankees dumped 18 kilotonnes of instant sunshine on top of it.

Sorry to those who tried, but because I recieved no replies concerning it I had to assume no-one completed the Kakapo challenge. No cookies this time.

And now for you're next challenge: donate 10$ to me! Just kidding (although that does'nt mean you don't have to).

Seriously, your next task is a special one. You see, reading Barefoot Gen (see above) has served to highlight for me the fact that violence of any kind is not the answer (unless the question is what word begins with V, has io in ther middle and ends with lence) in light of this, your next task is to find one person you don't like, and spend at least one day being nice to them.

Well folks, I have to rap this up. See y'all soon!

Salutations people

It is the third new post, and STILL NO PICTURES!!

As a seasoned viewer of webpages, you may notice, people reading this, that I have instigated a poll. please do vote, and don't sugar coat anything! (euphemisms just hurt my feelings more)

The first Kakapo challenge has ended. Congradulations Yael, here is your cookie!

And now for the next challenge:

As you may or may not know, exams are upon us (or, at least anyone that goes to my school and is year 10 extention or higher), so to promote acedemic prosperity, your new Kakapo challenge is to get 3 or more exellences in exams (or equivilant, if you don't do exams).

Aside from stressful school things, next week (Sunday to be precise) is also my 16th birthday! feel free to leave a comment wishing me a happy one. Maybe you can make me a cake at the cooking themed Meeting we will be having the week after (I would do the same for you).

And remember to comment. Come on people, what happened to friendly conversation over the internet?

Well, that about does it.Untill next week folks, and remember: to error, insult or destroy is to be human, to forgive is to be divine.....

Comrades,

It is once again time to be subject to the ramblings that issue forth from the twisted depths of my mind. Unless of course you stop reading. But that's not very nice, so don't.

the next meeting is of course on the 10th of June. We will be cooking, so it would be wise to hone you're pellate. Or have something to throw up in handy. Whichever works.

In other news I have learnt that the awesome^9,000 name (that I came up with) of our equally awesome group could be changed. Denzins of the internet, I urge you, make you're opinions known!

In other news, I am somewhat disappointed that no-one sucsessfully finished my challenge. While there was one valiant attempt, the book read was not Science Fiction, and as such doesn't count. Because of this, and because I know how long many Sci-fi books are, I am giving an extention to this Kakapo Challenge. Stay tuned for the next post to find out if you have won a cookie*.

Oh wait, that's right, I have to put something literature related on here. Very well, I have been reading Faust. It is a German play written in the 18th Century, about souls and good times, and how boredom can cost you.

Finally, I was also somewhat saddened at the rather low number of comments. COME ON PEOPLE! just because you haven't done the activity of the week it does'nt mean you can't say something; tell me how you are, what you're up to in life and abroad, you're opinions on current social trends, what movies you like. Got a special someone? tell me all about them (if you want to of course, I know many people like their privacy). Have a ton of Problems? Let me know. Want to put yourself foward for a job? No problem! Have a suggestion for the blog? glad to hear it! Want to ask me out on a date? sure thing! (only kidding of course, what young woman would want a crazy nerd like me? and who the Fox asks people out over the net anyway? oh wait, that's right, there's internet dating). Just don't put anything offensive or bad on there (I do have feelings that can be hurt you know).

Anyhow, that's all for now folks. Good night, and good luck

Thursday, April 29, 2010

Greetings all, this blog is now under new management, and things are going to be different around here. For example, you may notice that there is now a feature showing followers, so I know just how many people are reading this. You may also take note of the new avatar, as I am most certainly NOT a female with a coffee cup. Don't worry, I'm not a Nocturnal Parrot either. I just like the parrots, and feel like promoting our country's bio-diversity

The next meeting of the Ace of clubs is on the 13th of May, and the theme will be that of NZ music month. As usual, there will be snacks and drink.

Also of interest is that Youthweek is coming up, so be sure to be nice to youngsters, like me!

I am additionally begining an new tradition on this blog: the Kakapo challange. People who complete this and reply with their results will win a cookie*! Your first Kakapo challange is to read a Science Fiction Novel. Yes you heard me right, a great big Sci-fi book. Go on, embrace your inner nerd! You know you want to.

Well, that's all folks, I apologise for the lack of fun and exitement, but it has been a rather slow post interval. Be sure to tune in for the next instalment though!

Ace Of Clubs
